The Plattsburgh City School District is committed to supporting students with disabilities through individualized programs and services designed to meet their educational needs.
Through the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on Special Education (CSE), families work collaboratively with educators and related service providers to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that help students access and make progress in the general education curriculum.
Special education services are available for eligible students ages 3 through 21 and may include specially designed instruction, related services, counseling, speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, consultant teacher services, resource room services, and specialized classroom programs.
Students receiving special education services have their IEP reviewed annually and are reevaluated at least every three years. Parents are valued partners throughout the process.
